ACADEMICS

The heart of Oceans Edge is to equip musicians, producers, entrepreneurs, future ministry leaders, and pastors for a lifetime of ministry.

PROGRAMS

Our academic environment combines personal mentoring and discipleship with leadership training along with practical ministry exposure. Biblically-grounded courses are taught by seasoned instructors, pastors, and experienced professionals who give a relevant, fresh perspective of God’s Word with an emphasis on its relation to every area of life. Simultaneously, OEU leverages the immense talent, experience, and knowledge of our local church congregants to provide students with one-on-one mentorship and discipleship that is tailored to their gifts and interests.

Students who study at OEU may also receive their certificate or degree from either Visible Music College or Southeastern University. Courses are delivered through live, interactive video lessons and asynchronous content online from our partner schools with alignment with our in-person training by OEU staff and instructors.

MINISTRY LEADERSHIP TRAINING CERTIFICATE

Our certificate in Ministry Leadership Training is designed to be a holistic approach in preparing students spiritually and practically for working in full-time ministry at a church through discipleship, training, and hands-on experience. Students will choose a ministry to intern under which will provide hands-on experience and an in-depth look at the function and scope of that ministry. Additionally, students will take Survey of Ministries wherein they will learn about each ministry offered at Calvary Chapel, as well as other courses designed to strengthen their leadership, self-leadership, and knowledge of the Word.

WORSHIP LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE

Our certificate in Worship Leadership is designed to prepare students for all aspects of being a Worship Leader or Worship Pastor through discipleship, courses taught in the classroom, as well as an internship under a worship leader at one of our campuses. Students will take courses to strengthen their musicianship, leadership skills, and knowledge of the Word, while being able to apply what they are learning in a real-world setting at a healthy and thriving church with many campuses.

Chapels

Every week, students will join together for a time of worship, prayer, and teaching.

Mentoring

Every student has the option to be mentored by someone from our community. Every year God faithfully equips specific mentors to disciple these young leaders in very unique and personal ways. Students will also participate in various discipleship groups throughout the year.

Practicum

Practicum is designed to give students relevant, hands-on training in a specific area of ministry. Students will be partnered together with a Calvary Chapel ministry leader to serve for at least 10 hours a week. Calvary is uniquely positioned to provide opportunities, experience, and exposure across multiple campuses throughout South Florida that are different in size, location, and makeup.
